The above crane is 1200 MT crane towering above the boiler. The crane has been kept on side of the boiler and does erection.The boiler structure is such that crane positioning should be at site. In that site same capacity units are getting erected however erection strategy for both the companies are different . One company 's strategy is do the erection in U-formation thus high capacity crane to be placed in the cavity.
The ultimate capacity of crane( crawler) for Power house is guided by size and type of Boiler we are having. In all practical purposes ceiling Girder wt and size play crucial role on deciding the size. Height of the boiler / ceiling girder placement height plays significant role in this issue. There is other
method of ceiling Girder ( strand Jack ) method but that is never been popularised. In fact one of the
site this was followed but due it was noticed that placing jack on and above the girder huge amount of structural member has to be lifted earlier to place the jack. All in all big crane was necessary to lift the members of strand Jack.
Now we will discuss about the system on which high capacity cranes with other major construction
equipments are used. However at present we will restricted our discussion only on cranes.
1. Steam Generator : 600MT /1200MT - One number ; 250T/350T crane two numbers ; 120MT/150MT capacity -two numbers , 100MT/ 75 MT class -04 nos . Out of which one number crane will be tyre mounted with telescopic boom.
(We assume that Power House is having 2x660MW capacity and having phase gap of 06 months between the units)
2. ESP ( Electrostatic Precipitator ) - 2 nos 100MT crane.
3. Coal Handling Plant - 250MT/350MT crane -two numbers ; 120MT/150MT class 02 nos and 100MT /75 MT class -three nos . out of which one should tyre mounted telescopic boom.
