CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT FOR CIVIL WORK IN THERMAL POWER STATION

As we go ahead with construction equipment required for thermal Power station we will find different  types of construction  equipment are being used now. In earlier days civil work was extensively labour oriented. We need thousands of civil worker for  mass concreting at different places. At present such labour force can not be arranged easily . They also cannot produce output as desired by the company as per their master plan. We will discuss some of the machines here which are very popular here and being extensively used. Also we will discuss some of the area where improvement are necessary but could not be achieved.

However the tower cranes are extensively used Chinese ,Koreans etc in Boiler erection either by one or in tandem with other .Both cranes were placed both side of the steam generator. feasible. First thing to choose stationary or movable. We have not seen any movable tower crane in any of the erection site. But you will be surprised that A PSU engaged for erection of thermal Power Plant brought a movable Tower crane of 750 ton -metre capacity on customer insistence. The result was not encouraging and the utility of the crane was never been full. Due to its track SG erection becomes critical and keep on hold. After that no body venture to it . Recently only use of static tower crane caters all requirement. As an
improvement project erectors can start it in civil area. This will  reduce diesel consumption as tower cranes runs with electric supply. Now a days tower cranes are available mostly from China either on outright purchase on hire purchase.

Bull dozer is very common equipment earlier also and now also. However there are different sizes available in the market. One number big one and one number small one will suffice the entire area except ash pond. Small one with tyre mounted will be much useful in day to day work at power plant.

CONCRETE PUMP.

With introduction of  batching plant in civil work requirement of concrete mixture has become an absolute necessity. Minimum 04 numbers of concrete mixture will be required to deliver the concrete in liquid form as per requirement.

It is so happen concrete mixture sometimes concrete mixture can not reach to its destination or concrete has to be delivered in to
higher elevation then concrete pump will be necessary with pipelines to deliver the concrete. 03 to 04 numbers of pumps will be required to cater the need.

Some the equipment like road roller ,vibrator ,excavator etc also will be required  for the civil job. Vibrator with tyre  will be essential for the project.
Sizes etc will be dependent on the requirement. The choice to be done carefully so that equipment can be used properly. In that manufacturer data sheet will be essential to finalise the capacity of all the equipment stated above.
